Clubs & Activities At Bergen Catholic

Bergen Catholic offers over 50 different clubs and activities for students to participate in during the academic school year. These clubs and activities are run twice a week during activity period, which lasts from 1:30-2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  This allows all BC students the chance to participate in various after-school activities, without ever missing their bus ride home following the normal 2 pm school dismissal.

Cultural Enrichment:

Bergen Catholic offers students
opportunities to enrich their
cultural experiences both at home
and abroad with the following
programs:

  • Exchange Program with Co-legio Cardinal Newmann in Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Exchange Program in Shanghai China
  • City as Classroom: City as Classroom is a unique experience at Bergen Catholic for all students at no cost to the families. This program provides students the opportunity to use the research skills they have honed in their classes as well as outside the classroom in which they both live and learn to experience trips and programs in New York City.

Campus Ministry

Bergen Catholic’s Campus Ministry gives students the means to practice the church’s mission domestically and abroad. Students are required to do 40 hours of services over 4 years, however, have opportunities to receive hundreds of hours of services throughout their 4 years with many different opportunities locally, nationally, and abroad.

Volunteer Opportunities

at local community organizations include:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Clothes and Food Pantry (Ridgewood, NJ)
  • Camp Sunshine
  • Local Children’s Hospitals

Service Immersion Trips

Over 50 students a year travel to Lima Peru and Appalachia in West Virginia advancing Bergen Catholic’s and the Edmund Rice Christian Brother’s Essential Element of working with those marginalized by poverty and injustice.

Peer Ministry

Beginning in sophomore year, students have the opportunity to assist with Mass, mentoring other students, and serving as a role model to peers.
