Sam Roca Named Bergen Catholic Soccer Head Coach ORADELL, NJ, March 24, 2026– Bergen Catholic is excited to announce the hiring of Sam Roca as the new Bergen Catholic varsity soccer head coach. Roca comes to BC following a successful head coaching career at St. Joseph’s Metuchen (2020-2025), where he recently led the Falcons to a (18-1) record in 2025, and a statewide ranking of #11 overall in NJ. Roca was named the 2025 New Jersey State Coach of the Year for Private/Parochial Schools. “Coach Roca brings a proven record of excellence, leadership, and a commitment to developing his student-athletes on and off the field. With extensive experience at the high school and semi-professional levels, he has consistently built programs defined by discipline, unity, and competitive success. Coach Roca’s vision and values strongly align with Bergen Catholic’s mission of forming young men of character, faith, and excellence. During his playing career, Roca was a standout student-athlete at Wayne Valley High School, before playing collegiately at the University of South Carolina and High Point University. Upon graduation, Roca played professionally in Canada, Sweden and in the United States. 

Two Crusaders Crowned 2026 NJ Wrestling Champions ORADELL, NJ, March 14, 2026 – Congratulations to Bergen Catholic wrestlers Gideon Gonzalez ‘28 and Joey Canova ‘26 on being crowned 2026 New Jersey State Wrestling Champions! Gideon claimed the state title at 138 lbs while Joey was crowned a state champ at 157 lbs. We are so proud of you both for your incredible successes on the mat and in the classroom at BC and congrats to Head Coach Dom Santoli ‘00 on his first state champs under his tremendous leadership. Bergen Catholic Wins Basketball State Championship ORADELL, NJ, March 12, 2026 – Congratulations to the Bergen Catholic Crusader basketball team on winning the 2025-2026 Non-Public A state championship! This is the 7th state title in program history, and for the first-time ever BC repeated as Non-Public A champs and finish and finish ranked as the number one team in New Jersey. Congratulations to head coach Billy Armstrong ’94 and his team on finishing their season (29-3). Deus Vult!

Four Crusaders Set to Join Catholic Church in OCIA Program ORADELL, NJ, March 2, 2026– Bergen Catholic congratulates Ryan Park ‘26, Luke Stein ‘27, Owen Anderson ‘26 and Dylan Carrick ‘26 who all recently participated in the Rite of Election at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Oradell. These four Crusaders have been a part of BC’s new OCIA program, and each will receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil on April 4th and will be welcomed as new members of the Catholic Church.
