ORADELL, NJ, September 21, 2026 – Bergen Catholic’s StepUp club successfully hosted their first shoe donation drive of the school year, collecting donations from the BC community while also raising money from their school-wide dress down day.

The StepUp club collected shoes and sneakers as part of their support of the United Nations International Day of Peace and money raised will also go towards Covenant House. The club’s mission is to not only help provide new or gently worn footwear to those in need, but the group also wants to help eliminate footwear waste by recycling shoes and thus helping to go green and save the environment.

We thank our BC students in StepUp for organizing this successful footwear donation drive, for living out the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother education with their service for others, and for being instruments of peace.
