Crusaders Travel to Costa Rica for Culinary Arts Service Program
ORADELL, NJ, August 24, 2026 – This summer, Bergen Catholic students traveled to Costa Rica to take part in the CIEE’s Good Neighbor Kitchen program which allows high school students the chance to learn the culinary arts and regional cooking traditions from local chefs while exploring how food can bring people and communities together.
The BC students worked alongside other American high school students from Iona Prep and St. Laurence to help prepare and serve meals to local families, all while getting the chance to explore the beautiful Costa Rican landscape, learn about local culture and customs, and enjoy activities alongside new friends.
Bergen Catholic expands horizons and encourages our students to learn to lead by helping to serve others and to make a difference, whether it be in New Jersey or around the world. Deus Vult!
