Crusaders Celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year
ORADELL, NJ, February 12, 2024– Bergen Catholic Mandarin students in Ms. Zhagguyi Dong’s class celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year by helping create works of art using the Chinese ink blowing method, while also creating a paper dragon in celebration of 2024 being the year of the dragon.
Chinese ink blowing entails the artist putting black ink on paper, and then incorporating brighter ink and other items to decorate the picture, which the Crusader students each did when creating their plum blossom paintings. In addition to the paintings and paper dragons, the students also created origami swans out of paper.
