Bergen Catholic's Garden of Plenty Feeds the Needy
ORADELL, NJ, October 22, 2024– Throughout the summer, the Bergen Catholic ACTION garden has continued to grow and in 4 months has grown over 275 pounds of vegetables! Club co-founders Matthew Morin ‘25 and Christian Choi ‘25 have proudly been able to deliver 116 cucumbers, over 100 eggplants, 262 peppers, 382 tomatoes and over 1,200 green beans along with various herbs to both the Food Brigade of Dumont and Trinity Church in Old Tappan, where they have been distributed to those less fortunate in the community.
Our Bergen Catholic students lead by example and live the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education by standing in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty and injustice, while also helping the environment by going green and practicing food sustainability with their own home grown produce.
