Bergen Catholic Wins 2023 Non-Public A Football State Championship
ORADELL, NJ, November 28, 2023– Congratulations to the Bergen Catholic football program on winning the 2023 Non-Public A football state championship, after defeating Delbarton (24-14) on Tuesday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
Bergen Catholic has now won three consecutive Non-Public A state titles, the first time that impressive accomplishment has occurred for the program since the Crusaders won three straight from (1991-1993). It is also the 20th overall football championship in school history, the most of any New Jersey Catholic school in the large school Non-Public A classification.
In addition to winning the state championship, Bergen Catholic finished as the top-ranked football program in New Jersey for the third consecutive year, and ranked in the Top 25 in the nation in several national media polls.
