AP Art Class Visits The Metropolitan Museum of Art
ORADELL, NJ, April 7, 2025– Students in Mr. Bucev’s AP Art class traveled to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in order to study how realistic art is constantly changing its form and content. During the two-hour lesson, the Bergen Catholic students viewed the works of Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Caspar Friedrich.
The BC students examined the various uses of light and dark, the shift towards Modernism in art, the change in surrealism in some religious artwork, and the differences in the concepts of Beauty and the Sublime. What an amazing experience for our BC Art students to visit one of the greatest museums in the world and to study some of the masters in art history.
