ORADELL, NJ, December 14, 2025 – Bergen Catholic held its 2nd Annual Father-Son Retreat on December 14th, presented by the Catholic Gentlemen Leaders Club.

V.P. of Admissions Peter Rice kicked off the Retreat with a talk about how Saint Joseph is a model of fatherhood for us all. Deacon Ralph Powell used Jesus’ Parable of the Prodigal Son as a backdrop for a personal witness talk about his own relationship with his father and his two sons, Kieran and Brendan, who were both present and assisting at the retreat. Senior Grant Choi ‘26 proclaimed the Gospel and assisted with management of the retreat.

Religion Teacher Steve MacAnulty shared personal reflections throughout and led an afternoon breakout session for sons only, while the dads had their own breakout session. The fathers and sons were reunited and each pair had a private communication session before the day concluded with a prayer session in the Chapel. It was an enjoyable and productive day as all of the Father-Son pairs worked on being “Strong Together.”
