Statement on Unrest

Our action steps addressing the unrest in our country:

As the recent unrest and injustice continue in our country, we reiterated to our community that Bergen Catholic condemns any act of violence and strongly believes in the rights and dignity of all human lives.

Furthermore, we reminded our community that we teach that God’s love is unconditional and knows no bounds, discriminates against no one, respects all cultures, and embraces all life regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background.

We are not silent on this issue and have been communicating with our parents, students, and incoming families.  We brought our students together for a virtual prayer service and discussed racism and injustice and have started breakout sessions where they can have follow-up conversations with guidance counselors.  We are committed to continuing these conversations in the fall in order to provide outlets for our boys and to take the necessary steps forward to educate them against inequalities.
